Pal
Pal has been awarded ORCHA health app quality certification, scoring 90% for data security and achieving an overall score of 80% under the UK and Nordics OBR digital health framework, placing Pal in the top 15% of all assessed apps.
ORCHA (Organisation for the Review of Health and Care Apps) is the world’s leading organisation for evaluating and certifying digital health solutions. Apps undergo a rigorous assessment across 350+ criteria, with only 20% of all assessed apps meeting the certification standard.
This certification marks a significant milestone for Pal. With certification, Pal is now included in the ORCHA Digital Health Library, a resource used by healthcare, governmental, and charitable organisations, enabling professionals to recommend quality-assured digital solutions for patients and families. Notably, Pal is the only ORCHA-certified app for carers navigating palliative care, from the moment of diagnosis.
DHAF Certification: Expanding Global Recognition
Alongside ORCHA certification, Pal has also been approved under the US Digital Health Assessment Framework (DHAF). The DHAF certification strengthens Pal’s position as a trusted, globally recognised digital health solution for families managing life-limiting illnesses at home.
Founded in 2022 by Azi Doost and Nara Moripen, Pal is a digital care platform co-created with hundreds of individuals affected by life-limiting illness. It empowers families, doctors, and specialists to work together seamlessly, keeping patients supported and proactively cared for in the comfort of their home.
Azi Doost, co-founding Chief Operating Officer, shared: “Achieving ORCHA certification is a major step forward in our plan to provide a safe, trusted, and effective digital health platform for families navigating life-limiting illness. ORCHA’s evaluation and ongoing guidance ensures that Pal meets the highest standards for security and usability, helping us continue to refine and improve the platform. Most importantly, this certification makes it easier for healthcare professionals to recommend Pal, ensuring families receive the support they need, when they need it most.”
Achieving ORCHA and DHAF certification is just the beginning of a long-term partnership that will help expand Pal’s reach and drive innovation in digital supportive care. This recognition not only validates Pal’s impact but also unlocks new opportunities for collaboration with healthcare professionals, organisations, and policymakers seeking digital-first solutions to empower families and improve patient outcomes.
